Traveling pregnant: the means of transport

Being pregnant is not, in principle, does not make travel contraindicated. Of course, I mean travel pregnant with certain precautions and only if pregnancy is occurring without any problem. The pregnant woman can use all normal means of transport in general.

If you are driving, you can go as a companion and as a driver until the end of pregnancy. However, you should take care to use your seat belt correctly and stop to stretch your legs, as well as trying not to drive if you are dizzy or very tired and stay hydrated properly.

The train is ideal for the pregnant woman, as she can move and travel comfortably, although you have to anticipate in advance the best way to reach the platforms if you carry a lot of luggage and travel alone. Anyway, someone will always help us if we have to move a heavy lump.

The plane can be used throughout pregnancy, until the seventh or eighth month. It is convenient to consult the conditions of our airline and carry a medical certificate if necessary. On the plane, on long trips, pregnant women may suffer from fluid retention, swelling of legs and dehydration, so they should take extreme care and consider whether they will be comfortable on very long trips on tourists. At least, remember to stay well hydrated and take walks, even if they are short, through the aisle of the plane to stimulate return circulation.

In general, and this is a personal issue, I would not travel from the seventh month. The changes and fatigue of a trip would overwhelm me, but above all I would like to have my trusted doctor close by if the delivery is advanced. However, as I said, traveling pregnant is not a danger, as long as we take some basic precautions.
