"Children's massage, the art of giving love", is the beautiful title of this video It shows us the benefits and some techniques of baby massage, a practice that many parents and children enjoy (others not so much).
Nurse Sandra Peña Gascón, responsible for the children's massage service of the Hospital de Nens de Barcelona, exposes us the advantages of giving massage to newborns, to stimulate their senses and improve their development. We see images of the workshops that are held in this Hospital, which we talked about a while ago.
In addition we listen and see some simple techniques of massages to babies, while the small group enjoys these caresses and movements (with their mothers). The massages consist of alternating "kneading" movements, tractions, frictions, percussions and caresses. The massage session starts at the chest where the first contact is made and parents and children are tuned in. The arms, abdomen, legs, back and finally the face continue working.
