"Celebrating my postpartum", the movement on Instagram where mothers admire their bodies

When we live a pregnancy and have children, our bodies go through an impressive transformation, which leaves us with a series of changes, sometimes unexpected, to which we have to adapt. For many women, such changes (plus the power of hormones) can cause feelings of confusion or sadness.

But in reality, all these changes represent something bigger and it is precisely what a mother wants to demonstrate, when starting a movement on Instagram called "Celebrating my postpartum".

Hayley Garnett is a photographer and mother of three children: a small child and a pair of five-month-old twins. We recently talked to you about it, due to a message that you published about being kind to ourselves. Recently he decided to start a campaign in which he invited other mothers to recognize and share his testimony about his postpartum body.

Hayley's idea is that the mothers celebrate and share everything positive and that emotional side that left them having had in their children, as well as the impact it had on their bodies to become mothers.

Using the hashtag #celebratingmypostpartum, published the first photo of this campaign on his Instagram account, in which he appears accompanied by his twins and shares his feeling about his postpartum body.

"For me, accepting change has not been the easiest trip, but it has been the most mentally powerful"shares Hayley."It has been nicer to be able to see myself in the mirror without feeling the urge to turn the other way. Excess skin, stretch marks and horrible diastasis - it is part of who I am, and it goes if I am going to love and celebrate myself for this physical journey to which motherhood has taken me".

Hayley has been accompanied by other mothers, who in addition to sharing their photographs, have written messages dedicated to their bodies, thanking for the work they have done and recognizing with love all the changes that left them becoming mothers.

The body after childbirth

The campaign has been received with great affection and appreciation by other mothers, because it reminds us that although we may not look as before, Each brand in our postpartum body is a beautiful mark of the beautiful work he did to give us one of life's greatest gifts: being mothers.

It's true that maybe not all of us go through big changes, but every woman is different and that is also something that celebrates this initiative. Our bodies, with or without stretch marks, flaccid or firm, carried our children for nine months, and that makes them very special.

Let's learn to recognize the value of our postpartum body, to celebrate each brand that gave us having children and above all, to love ourselves as we are.
