Ronald McDonald houses

The Ronald McDonald Children's Foundation is a nonprofit institution that works to provide well-being for certain children and their families. His main work is the creation and maintenance of Ronald McDonald houses, a home for families whose child needs a long medical treatment that must be performed in a hospital away from their usual residence. In addition, they work with other foundations or entities that favor children and their families.

The first Ronald McDonald House opened in Philadelphia in 1974 and the Foundation currently has 267 homes in 28 countries around the world, Europe, Asia, the US, Canada and Latin America, where more than 25,000 volunteers collaborate. We know the Ronald McDonald House located in Barcelona, very close to the Vall d'Hebrón Hospital. This home just turned five, on April 11, in which he has given free accommodation to almost 300 children with their families, children who have had to be treated (usually cancer) in any of the hospitals that are in Barcelona and that came from different communities in our country and even abroad.

To celebrate this anniversary, the Ronald McDonald House in Barcelona is carrying out recreational activities for children and families who currently reside there, in addition to receiving visits from various personalities from the sports, cultural and social world through the “Friends of the Foundation” program .
