A new initiative of the University of California in Los Angeles has changed the concept of hospital admission in children, the new Mattel UCLA Children's Hospital allows the whole family to visit the patient and even settle in the hospital. It gives the impression that it is a hotel since it has many of the services offered therein.
All the details have been carefully selected, the new hospital that came into operation on June 6 has terraces, large sofas, private rooms and decorated in a family style, full sinks and even Internet so that parents can be in continuous contact with their children in the case of not being able to go to the hospital.
Reduce as much as possible all the tensions that can be generated as a result of the hospital admission of the child, it is a task that will improve the mood of the patient and the family, and consequently a better recovery and that doctors are sure.
In Spain, the children's hospital environment is also changed, perhaps not in the same way as this new American hospital, but it works for it. Gradually hospitals cease to be such sad and depressing places, specialists perfectly know that the mood is a step gained in the fight against the disease, in the future all children's hospitals will offer an ideal combination, medical care in a family environment.
