Dairy consumption in children is associated with an increased risk of cancer

It has always been said that children should take all kinds of dairy products for the benefit of their development. The calcium and nutrients that these foods provide have always been preached in all areas, although lately this concept begins to change little by little. A study shows the possible relationship that exists between a large consumption of dairy products during childhood and the increased risk of suffering an oncological disease in an adult state.

To reach this conclusion, researchers from Sunshine Coast, Queensland (Australia), followed up 5,000 people, data on their lifestyle, average consumption of dairy products, fruits, meats, vegetables, etc. Basically it is a statistical study. The researchers determined that the average dairy consumption was between half a cup and two cups of milk in the group of people subject to the study.

Apparently, there are more cases of colorectal cancer in the group that enjoyed the highest amount of dairy products, also taking into account the different diet models they followed or their socioeconomic status. The truth is that, in our opinion, these data are not significant and some more studies should be carried out, since only 35 records and 41 deaths from colorectal cancer were identified.

As we always say, a study must be supported by scientific, non-statistical arguments, although it is also true that other scientific studies do point to this possibility. In short, this is a very serious issue that requires new studies to certify this possibility.
