Help! My baby comes without instruction manual

Today we want to show you one of those typical gifts that are usually made when a couple is about to have their first child.

Help! My baby comes without instruction manual It is a basic pack for novice parents that consists of a book with various tips to help us raise our baby, a funny bib with an L and a sticker for the car, reverse, to stick it on the rear glass, with the message it gives title to the pack (Help! My baby ...).

Editions Oniro, who are in charge of its publication, has sent us one of the packs to take a look and as we found interesting and funny we decided to analyze it in Babies and more.

The book

Help! My baby comes without instruction manual It is a book written by Blythe Lipman, a professional who worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Boston Hospital, now dedicated to giving seminars and courses aimed at novice parents.

It is a light reading book, 120 pages with generous letter and space, which tries to be exactly what it says, a kind of instruction manual with many possible tips for parents to try which one is best suited in their own way to understand the upbringing and especially to the needs of the babies.

Among the topics covered, we can highlight the crying of babies, sleep, food, safety at home, the role of the father and ultimately all possible doubts that may arise for a couple who just had a child. One of the chapters that I found most interesting is the one that talks about parents who boast about their children, giving recommendations to run away from them and avoid "eating" the head with what your baby does not and others do.

If you are already a mother or if you already have some notions or have read other parenting books, you may not learn anything new with this book. On the other hand, if you have just arrived, if you are one of those “rookie” mothers (or rookie father), that the day you arrive home with your baby you stay in the middle of the dining room watching him sleep and ask yourself “what now? ”, This book can be a good starting point to start knowing babies, yourself and the environment, which also plays an important role.

Personally I would not sign all the author's advice, but it does not explain anything that made me tear my clothes as it has happened with other books by other authors that I prefer not to name today.

The bib and the car sticker

The other two items that come in the pack are a bib with a large "L" and the text "Help! Novice dads" on white, with a yellow border, eminently unisex and an adhesive, something small if compared to traditional triangles as a signal, to be stuck on the rear moon of the car, again asking for help and explaining that the parents who go in the car are newbies.

A picture is worth a thousand words:

Conclusions

The pack has a price of 15.90 euros and personally I see it more as a possible gift to a couple who expects a baby or who has just given birth than as a book that I as a father would buy to read, because although he talks about everything and Tips are interesting, I find it short and do not get too much into the issues. Let's say that in general it is very basic, although perhaps that is a virtue considering that it is aimed at parents and recent moms.

The rest of the pack fulfills the function of funny detail. The bib is curious and the adhesive is not much to say. It comes all in a beautiful box and, I say, as a gift for first-time parents, I consider it a good option.
