The Telefónica Foundation presents the # RapEducation at the international education meeting 2012-2013

The Telefónica Foundation presents the # RapEducation at the international education meeting to be held for 18 months and in which you will try to answer the question How should education be the 21st century?. This is a meeting in which debate and exchange will be encouraged, many activities and workshops will be held online. In addition to the permanent dialogue on the Internet through the page prepared for the event, the Encounter will move, for two years, through nine cities in Spain and Latin America in which face-to-face events will be held that will feature great experts from the educational world. Nine topics that will feed the debate on the present and future of education will be addressed.

The meeting has already started in Buenos Aires and passed through Santiago de Chile although there is still time to participate or through its website or attending the events of: Medellín, Lima, Mexico City, Rio de Janeiro, Quito, Caracas and Madrid where it is expected to arrive in October 2013.

To illustrate the educational movement a youth group has put voice and rhythm in the form of rap to the reflections that the Latin American educational world is making. The young people are representatives of the students of the current educational system and express in rap the commitment they expect from the teachers to adapt to the new technological reality, to the professional requirements that they will meet when they finish their training.

Thus they ask: What world did I educate myself for? And it is that the rap of 'Education 2.0' addresses the challenges of education in the 21st century: that it contains values, emotions, an intelligent school, that opens our mind, that unites people, in which everyone can learn with a different rhythm, that allows to create, to think, the classrooms are the base of this trip and it is the center of two generations and an encounter that look for the borders of the knowledge.

The Rap of Education 2.0 is a production of Yllana for Fundación Telefónica. Music producers: El Langui and Keru Dj. In the video, five young people, three boys and two girls, respond by rapping to the question: "Two point zero, is the education I want"

We congratulate the Fundación Telefónica for the ambitious challenge of mobilizing and generating a debate on education in the 21st century. In addition to the fact that it lasts so long, 18 months and passes through so many cities and different realities of Spain and Latin America, it makes the effort remarkable and ensures that many experiences will be discussed that can contribute ideas to what education could be in the future. . It is a debate in which neither parents nor teachers can be alienated and we have to participate.
