The Valencia City Council launches the school campaign on noise pollution

He Noise pollution service of the Valencia City Council works with schoolchildren to prevent and raise awareness about noise because it is an important factor of environmental pollution. The objective is to encourage healthy behaviors that favor acoustic citizenship and coexistence in society. The campaign is identified with a representative pet called Mutis.

Informative and pedagogical actions are especially aimed at children 10 and 11 years old and have the motto: Mutis, control your noise And is that children in 5th and 6th Primary Education quickly learn the causes and effects of noise and how they can contribute to a better quality of life.

The highlights of these actions are transferred to the students through the peculiar family Exit. And it is that among the Mutis you can find the sound of the city and the consequences of noise pollution. So children will have to learn to control noise, take preventive measures and participate in awareness workshops for children.

These actions also include the participation of environmental technicians that explain acoustic concepts such as noise, decibels, frequency, etc.

Further, awards are convened in order for children to explain their vision, provide their solutions and be encouraged to participate. The awards apply to schools and students and focus on the drawings and ideas contributed by the kids.

The activity is very attractive for Valencia. And the last time I was in that beautiful city I was impressed, and it was Christmas, for the huge noise generated by the freckles. Although I have to admit that more than noise that was like an ability to generate passion and emotion in which I listened and felt it.

So I hope at least that kind of sound, full of traditions and feelings, is not the one that the kids have to fight and focus more on those of the motorcycles, on the trucks in the cities, on the music that comes out of the cars and on offering respect and tranquility to the neighbors who live in ambient areas festive. And of course, to set the example and that more cities sign up for this type of initiatives.
