A baby born with 19 weeks lived just a few minutes but received all the love from his family

Gestational losses happen more commonly than we think, but little is said about them. Therefore, today we wanted to share with you the moving story of Walter, a baby born with 19 weeks gestation that he lived just a few minutes out of his mother's womb, but He received all the love from his family.

It is impressive to see a human being already formed but so tiny. At 19 weeks of pregnancy a baby is just 15 cm and weighs about 250 grams. The case has impacted everyone because they have transcended the images of the baby with his mother and the rest of the family, hugging him, talking to him, feeling part of him and unfortunately, firing him.

The mother, Lexi Fretz, is a photographer. I was preparing the photo shoot for a wedding I had the next day when it started with losses. Once in the hospital, the contractions were increasingly strong, unstoppable, and little Walter was born.

Although at first the mother did not want photos, then she was glad to have them because it is the memory she will have of that little time she could spend with her baby.

"I lifted him, hugged him, while his heart was beating. I kept him close to my heart, counted his toes and kissed his head. I will always keep the warm memories I have of him." said mom.

Both Lexi and her husband wanted their other children to meet their little brother, whom they went to visit the hospital. Many parents would not allow it for fear of causing them trauma, but they have accepted it as something natural, that although painful for the whole family, it is better to spend it together.

I leave you with a video with more images and I warn you that they are shocking, but I think they are also necessary to raise awareness about what gestational losses entail. Lives truncated before or a few minutes after birth.
