The ice skater Javier Fernández will be the flag bearer of Spain at the Sochi Olympic Games

The madrileño Javier Fernandez is double European figure skating champion, the last medal he got a few days ago in Zagreb. Javier will be the flag bearer of the Spanish team at the Sochi Winter Games (Russia) which will be held between February 7 and 23, 2014. With Javier, the Spanish delegation will be composed of 21 athletes.

In the newspaper El Mundo you can read how during Javier's childhood and thanks to the sacrifice of his parents he consolidated his passion for ice skating. The hobby came from his older sister Laura, who now trains kids, and by contagion Javier was encouraged to practice it and has ended up beating everyone. A few years ago we talked about Javier in Peques and Más because in Vancouver 2010 also competed when he was 19 years old and was champion of Spain. Then it was in 14th place in the Olympic Games with two extraordinary programs, one based on agent James Bond and one based on pirate Jack Sparrow. We will be very attentive to your participation in the 2014 Games in which you compete full of maturity, with great recent triumphs and with an intact illusion.
