World Education Week: right to education also for those who have special needs

“Let's add capabilities. For the right to an inclusive education ” is the motto of the World Week of Action for Education (SME), which will be held starting next Monday, and until April 13. We will then claim the right of children with special educational needs, to receive a quality education, without discrimination and on the basis of equal opportunities.

This is reflected in the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities; and so the World Campaign for Education (CME) claims. The video you will see below shows many examples of inclusive education, and how coexistence is possible (adding different capacities) among students.

Inclusive quality systems, based on a rights-based approach, cannot remain a marginal issue in educational policies, but must be central to the achievement of quality education for all people.

As you know, the child population with special educational needs It is a great forgotten when asking for the right to education. Inequality that is accentuated in middle and low income countries; and also among women and girls with disabilities (who experience multiple disadvantages).

This is the web where to consult the acts that I enter the SME are organized in different cities. Tell you that in all the Autonomous Communities, High school students and students will participate in activities that they have previously worked with teachers. There will also be playful acts and claims.
