The bodies that Hipercor has had to remove by sexists

It seems incredible that after some major brands there is no one to supervise the designs so that they are not offensive or discriminatory. Not long ago I heard about clothes for children with swastikas and the last have been the bodies that Hipercor has had to remove by sexists.

And, that is to imply that parents are the smart family and moms are beautiful, well ... not very good, gentlemen. Because surely the baby will have taken intelligence from both sides and there is much more than the beauty to highlight of the child. For more inri, those who are clever are boys (with the inevitable blue) and pretty girls (in pink), in this way we perpetuate gender stereotypes ...

The images that we have of the bodies are not of much quality since they leave Twitter, but you can see them in some media that have echoed the news or if you have the catalog of autumn fashion of the store, in its pages.

Sexism is present in all areas of our society, is in school books, in stories, in advertising, but this proliferation does not mean that we do not have to do anything against it.

This is what some of the people who saw these thought baby bodies in Hipercor stores (The supermarket chain of El Corte Inglés), made it public and immediately the social networks echoed, reaching enough impact, even to force the store to remove the garments with these sexist messages.

These products exhibited the sexist phrases "Smart as a dad" and "Pretty as a mom", to which the user organization Facua has added "Sexist as Hipercor". Well, they say that rectifying is wise and that it is better late than never.

Popular comfort for a sad reality that will continue to make headlines. But Hipercor apologized through Twitter (the same network through which the photos of the bodies circulated): "Hipercor has removed the children's clothing that may have offended our customers, deeply regretting the situation."

The Women's Institute and other associations have pointed out that these garments are discriminatory and that the worst thing is that, probably, someone did it without bad faith, that is, that stereotypes are so buried in society that they continually emerge. They are assumptions that are in the unconscious and against which it is complicated to act.

We end up with another popular saying and that is that from mistakes you learn. Probably after Hipercor had to remove some baby bodies by sexists, in this store they take great care to place new messages in children's clothing without being checked before and check that they are not offensive or discriminatory ... But, what will be the next mark that paws?
