It seems a lie: the famous publish photos to promote and normalize breastfeeding

It seems a lie that famous women who live by their image, those that are sometimes talked about sometimes because they give birth by caesarean section early to avoid the last weeks of pregnancy, those who undergo surgery in the same delivery, those who recover their figure in two months in plan "yes , you can ", be women who publish photos for promote and normalize breastfeeding.

I do not say that they are the same that do one thing and then the other, eye, but it is curious to see that more and more models, actresses and singers have no qualms about showing their more human side, taking care of their babies, showing moments of his facet as a mother and showing us, as I say, the occasional photo breastfeeding. In the photo above, for example, you can see the model Natalia Vodianova breastfeeding her baby, while in the next photo, it is the model Doutzen Kroes which this week two days ago published a photo of him pumping milk.

The first one he did to congratulate his partner's birthday, but in passing he showed us all a beautiful image of him with his baby, both naked. The second one has wanted to do it to promote breastfeeding, explaining that pumping is your daily routine because breastfeeding a baby is the best for the baby, whenever possible.

Most famous they did before

They are not the first, obviously. We speak now of celebrities in general because before they appeared Gisele Bündchen, Miranda Kerr, Olivia Wilde and Beyoncé, among others, all of them with pictures breastfeeding and with the intention of normalizing breastfeeding.

Normalize breastfeeding? Yes, and it is important that celebrities do it because this eliminates the old status that the bottle seems to offerWhen breastfeeding was what women did without resources and bottle feeding what those who freed themselves from "such a burden" did to lead a less slave life of the baby and motherhood.

Normalizing breastfeeding or reification of women?

First of all clarify that I love that women, famous or not, take pictures breastfeeding their children and, ultimately, making visible something as natural as your child eat. That's why I'm talking about this today and that's why I put the photos of these women who with their image and notoriety help breastfeeding looks like the natural and normal food for the baby.

Now, I speak of models, actresses and singers, women who live by their image and, above all the models, suffer the objectification of their bodies, of their own being. They are not paid for who they are, but for the image they project: photos of their legs, photos of their backs, photos with suggestive looks, others with little clothing, etc. These photos are the daily bread of that profession increasingly criticized because they are women whose function is to be a model of all others when they are actually a minority. Almost no woman is like that, and not only that, the women we see in the photos, many times they don't even exist, because Photoshop has retouched them in such a way that in the end what we see is a big lie.

Then, within that superficial work in which the merit is to be beautiful and teach more or less meat, an increasingly criticized work that is part of an increasingly criticized world, the most logical strategy on the part of those responsible for this monster should be to make the models more earthly people, more flesh and blood, and that is why many magazines now show them with their families, with beautiful reports where they appear with their couples and children, all perfect.

For sample, a button, the same Doutzen Kroes that teaches us his daily routine with the breast pump appeared two months ago in Vogue with his family:

Anyway, this is the world we live in, where the image seems to be the most important of all (or almost, because in reality the image is nothing more than the way to make money). It is enough to ensure that we all consider that normal people are like that, or that they should aspire to be that way, so that the mechanism is put into operation and criticizes everyone who goes outside the norm. You don't want to be criticized? Don't you want to be mediocre and heap? Then get in the car, spend your money and lose weight, wear those tight dresses and those impossible heels. Only then will you be happy. And in the meantime, so that we don't see the duster (those responsible for all this will think), we will show the kind, human and precious side of these people whom we only want for their beauty and that little will matter to anyone when A few years pass.

I do not know, I am becoming a scumbag and I would have to be very happy with these images, but it is so difficult for me not to think that there is a double intention ...
