The beautiful story of a center that is a nursing home and nursery school at the same time

The photos of grandparents and baby, the scenes in which older people and children spend time together, share space and experiences always inspire tenderness, kindness, love. It is the moment in which two lives are joined almost at the extremes, that of the grandfather who has lived many years and has few left and that of the baby who has lived few years and has many left. The union between experience and the desire to learn, which contributes so much to both.

This is what they should have thought of Seattle, where they decided that Providence Mount St. Vincent could welcome people of both ages. What happened? Well what you will see in the video that you can see next, that the children are given the love, kindness and experience of those we should most admire and who to the elderly, to the elderly, it gives life.

"Present Perfect"

The video is a trailer, a preview of an Evan Briggs documentary whose intention is precisely to document history, show the experiences of the center and the contrasts of children in their early years and older, in their last years. Under the title of 'Present Perfect', it will show a reality in which, according to her, the past and the future intermingle, in a present in which both interact and learn from each other.

To make this possible, Briggs started a fundraising campaign in Kickstarter that has already exceeded the money he needed, which is good news because in the future we will be able to watch this documentary and get excited about those moments that have so much value and so much They make us think.

The value of childhood in adulthood

I don't think there is much to be said about what children take from that experience. We all remember with love and tears in our eyes the good moments we had with our grandparents and grandmothers: the games, the food, that let us do everything that dad and mom didn't, that spoiled us to the extreme and spoiled us all. Close your eyes, try to remember it and you will know what I mean.

About what the "grandparents" have been talking about a few months ago, so I take the opportunity to rescue that entry. In it I explained several studies and experiments in which it has been shown that when an older person has a reason, a reason to live, a goal, a responsibility, live longer than if you have none of it. In addition, when he spends time doing tasks that he did years ago, he goes back in a certain way in time and feels younger (in spirit), which has a positive impact on his life and health.

Come on, I was excited when I met this project, I was excited to see the video and hopefully one day I can watch the full documentary to enjoy it and get excited already in style.
