Being pregnant does not mean being sick or unable to continue with everyday life, unless things are done that put the baby's life at risk.
That is what several mothers from all over the world have wanted to demonstrate in social networks with the hashtag # 7monthsawesome, under which they describe awesome things that women do with seven months of pregnancy or in the last stage of their pregnancy.
How it all started
Samantha Decombel is a medical geneticist who was invited in July by the European Commission to give a conference on science and entrepreneurship.
The event would take place in Brussels in November, which is why Samantha wrote to the person in charge of organizing the event to tell her that by then she would be seven months pregnant and that she preferred to travel by train instead of by plane. To which they replied that it would be better not to travel revoking your invitation.
In September they replied that they were not in favor of putting their health at risk by making her travel to Brussels in the last stage of her pregnancy.
"Our colleagues from the European Commission are not very enthusiastic to take a risk for your health making you travel to Brussels at the late stage of your pregnancy"
She felt very disappointed and considered a form of discrimination against working women, that despite being pregnant can continue with their careers as entrepreneurs, scientists, students, zumba teachers or whatever.
