How to make honey and sesame hearts

We leave the butter out of the fridge so that it is soft and manageable and mix it with the icing sugar and honey. We add the egg and the flour and we knead with our hands until you get a more or less homogeneous mixture.

Add two tablespoons of sesame seeds and mix well. Then, we form a ball that we leave in the bowl, keeping it in the fridge for about an hour So that it hardens.

We spread flour on the table, and with a floured roller, we stretch the dough until it is about half a cm high. With a heart-shaped cutter we cut the cookies or pastries. Then we put the cuts together and stretch again and cut until the dough is finished.

We beat one egg yolk and paint with it the surface of the hearts, sprinkling them with the other tablespoon of sesame. We let the yolk dry while we preheat the oven to 190º. Bake for 10 minutes until we see that the cookie is golden and the yolk has a caramel color. Cool on a rack and ready for snack.
