A divorced mother creates a shared custody calendar to help children of separated parents

There is no doubt that a couple's divorce is a difficult situation for children, and although the relationship between both parents is good and there is cordiality, it is not strange that the child manifests some anxiety or sadness before changes, sometimes unexpected for them, that occur in their day to day.

Therefore, Sara Olsher (United States), divorced and with a daughter, decided to devise some calendars for children of separated parents, in order to visually show them what shared custody means and help them to better change their routines.

Sara has training in psychology and illustration and after her divorce she decided to join both skills to create a tool that was able to help your 18 month old girl to understand the changes that were going to occur from that moment in his life.

And that's how he created the Mighty and Bright shared custody calendars, which combine fun illustrations with teaching methods based on custom magnets that represent each of the parents, the houses or places where the children will be and the activities they will carry out with them.

"Children need to remember custody schedules and they often have difficulty keeping track of them. We have our digital devices always at hand but they don't "- says Sara on her website.

The "Mighty and Bright" calendars are both weekly and biweekly and monthly, and also have a basic routine table to help children with their homework, providing them with security regardless of the parent with whom they are and the house in which they are.

The idea of this Californian mother has seemed wonderful and a creative way to help the little ones in a divorce process, since there is no doubt that to a greater or lesser extent their routines are affected and this can negatively influence them.

Because even if the couple is broken, we must not forget that the needs of the children remain the same, and as far as we can, the parents must ensure them and make them feel safe and calm with the new situation.
