Contests, leisure plans and resources to enjoy reading

Everybody we want our children to become avid readers, that they get excited about reading a good book and that these appear in their letter to the Magi. But it is in our hands to encourage that good habit and teach them to love reading and enjoy it, even though they still can't read.

Therefore, it is important that books are never lacking at home and that children have access to them whenever they want. In addition, we can rely on cultural activities that help us discover the love of reading.

And that is precisely what the Ministry of Education Culture and Sports wants to do this Christmas through its 2017-2020 Reading Promotion Plan: Reading gives you extra lives.

Under the slogan "Christmas Reading", a campaign is being carried out in social networks with the aim that children discover the pleasure of reading in a fun way.

For this they are asking that parents send a photo or drawing made by our children about the comic or story they have read and that they liked the most, and among all the participants three lots of books will be raffled to encourage reading (here you can read all the bases to participate).

The campaign, which will be active until January 8, is being carried out through the social channels Twitter (@leervidasextra), Facebook (@vidasextra) and Instagram (@leertedavidasextra) and under the hashtag #NavidadLectora.

Parallel to the contest, and during these Christmas days, they are being held in various municipalities and cities of Spain recreational activities, storytelling and workshops to enjoy with our children of entertaining cultural plans that bring them closer to books. We advise you to take a look at the social channels that we have just mentioned, to be informed of all the activities scheduled for these parties.

And also, on the website of the Reading Promotion Plan you can find information and resources aimed at families, teachers, or children and young readers who will help us to encourage reading and enjoy it thanks to their advice and recommendations .
