"Your imperfections are perfect", the beautiful photographic project that celebrates the postpartum body

In pregnancy, our body goes through an impressive transformation, and in addition to giving us a baby at the end of this stage, we also have some memories, such as extra pounds or stretch marks. Our postpartum body now has some imperfections that we may not have before, but that is not necessarily a bad thing.

And that's exactly what we can see in the photographic series that we will share today, in which the postpartum body is celebrated with powerful images, showing how perfect those "imperfections" are.

In the media and social networks it is common to talk about how quickly some women recover after childbirth and return to their previous size or how good they look after becoming mothers, while omitting or avoiding talking about things that "They are not pretty," like stretch marks.

All this makes many women feel bad when comparing their postpartum bodies with those who look in magazines, which we must remember, do not represent the reality of all women.

That is why the photographer Julie Worthy of Petite Chérie Photography made a photographic series in which the models are mothers wearing their postpartum bodies.

In the photographs, we can see mothers alone and accompanied with their children. Some new mothers and others after having their second child.

In a post made on your website, Julie shares a message about this photo series:

I hope that through my love and passion for photography I can show you how beautiful it really is in postpartum body. These photos are real, they are raw and they are powerful just like you! Each stretch mark, each kilo and each wrinkle are the result of the growth and upbringing of those sweet babies in their arms. Be proud and embrace who you are. We come in all forms and all measures. We have different ethnicity, education and beliefs, but there is something that remains the same: we love our babies. Now is the time to love ourselves! Tell your daughters that they are beautiful. Tell your friend who pushes a stroller every day how amazing she looks. Tell your wives how much you love them, even more for giving them the greatest gift of their lives. Your imperfections are perfect.

Julie, who kindly sent us the original photographs to share with fans of Babies and more, he hopes that with this photographic series and his message, mothers will love each other more after delivery and recognize the beauty and powerful message that each brand carries on its postpartum body.
