A birthday with her newborn sister

A scheduled caesarean section that eventually had to go ahead

But I was fine, and the next day I had already planned to finalize details. I had to finish the hospital bag, prepare the things that my oldest son was going to need in my absence, and most importantly: I had assured him that he would attend a performance he was going to celebrate at school.
So I told my doctor that I was perfectly well, and that I preferred to keep the date of the caesarean section two days later, as planned. But that same morning I started with quite annoying contractions, and although all my eagerness was to concentrate to see if they happened and I could continue with my planned plans the next day, in the end it could not be.
When we left my oldest son in school we went to the hospital, although I was still hopeful that everything was a false alarm and could arrive in time to see his school performance. But suddenly, I was prepared to go to the operating room, warning precipitously to the family (which they had in mind that my daughter would be born the next day) and giving instructions on the things that had been pending.
Unfortunately, I could not attend my child's school performance, but in return, when the grandparents picked him up in the afternoon, they took him to the hospital to meet his new sister.
