With the slogan “Child labor is not a children's game”, the Telefónica Foundation has organized the I Proniño International Forum, a comprehensive program of social action with the intention of being able to sensitize everyone and make an effective fight against child labor. In the Proniño program, we strive to provide adequate attention to children by supporting their educational and family environment so that children can study and their family accepts this fact by banishing child labor.
This forum will take place tomorrow Tuesday in the city of Quito (Ecuador), since what it is about is trying to eradicate child labor in Latin America. The forum will discuss several general points such as policy formulation, commitment by the private sector or politics and educational experiences among others. 18 countries will note their presence through 400 international delegates and specialists dedicated to trying to eradicate child labor. It is not a meeting like so many, since it is the first time that international organizations, NGOs, institutions and representatives of the private and public sector converge on the same meeting point.
Great as long as there is a greater emphasis on this problem, we just have to remember some initiatives to eradicate child labor in the past and that did not end up prospering. It's been a few years that have been denouncing the situation of many children, we hope this forum really serves something.
