Co-responsibility workshops in the care of babies

The involvement of the father in the care of the children, fortunately it is increasingly normal, also in our environment we can check it, we even know parents enjoy maternity leave.

But not all men are equal and sometimes it is not their fault either, there are women who treat their husbands as their grandmothers did, which prevents them from moving to a territory of equality.

This is the case of some workshops that are going to take place in Torrevieja (Alicante), where the Department of Equality of the City Council and the Infodona service, give the opportunity to assist new families to Co-Responsibility Workshop in the care of babies from 0 to 1 year.

To attend these workshops you must register at the town hall before June 11, and during the next months, a workshop will be held every 15 days of approximately 1 hour. It seems like a good initiative, since they bring men closer to the activities that women have traditionally done. Those of us who are parents already know or should know that we are two, that we do not have schedules and that if the tasks are shared, it gets along better and the family bond is strengthened.

It may be useful to attend, inform about the upbringing of the babies, the paternal or maternal roles will be discarded, an attempt will be made to strengthen trust and responsibility, etc. But we think that a father who simply has a good time going to the workshop, is already aware of his role as a father, perhaps he lacks a push that the mother can give him.

Other cases may occur in men who feel obliged to attend, who will do and attend everything they need in the workshops, but once at home, they will take the role granted again.

Other different situations can also be found, such as that the father is not able to cope with his work and the workshops help him to gain that confidence that he lacked, to know his baby, to meet his needs, etc. Have you met any of these cases?

Actually, the change that a couple is having when having a baby is very large, and it can be beneficial to be covered, in addition to receiving information about caring for their baby, they can share concerns and joys, and relate, which is always very good.
