Kefir, healthy to prevent some allergies in babies

Apparently, Kefir, a fermented milk drink with a minimum alcohol content, can protect babies from suffering certain food allergiesAt least this is what a team of researchers from the National Formosa University of Taiwan indicates. The protection in question would be offered by a bacterium that is present in this food, capable of inhibiting the IgE allergen also called immunoglobulin E.

This allergen produces various immunological reactions to a certain antigen, certain substances are considered by the body as parasites without being it and the attempt to protect the organism creates a whole series of reactions (allergy symptoms). Kefir is very popular especially in Eastern Europe, although some years ago its use has begun to spread through other countries given the great benefits provided to the body. The tests carried out with laboratory mice certify the great allergen inhibitory power, although the components of Kefir that allow such an effective prevention against food allergies should be thoroughly studied.

Kefir has a 1% alcoholic graduation, something that perhaps would stop it from being administered to babies, but scientists claim that it is an insignificant amount so there would be no problem in its administration.

We have our doubts, however insignificant, it would be necessary to carry out a long-term study that confirms that there is no side effect or predisposition in the future to alcohol. Anyway, we must be cautious and wait for new studies with scientific consensus before providing kefir to our babies.
