Tell us your story: Mariana, the best gift

One of the sections that we enjoy most in the blog is our special stories of parents, through which the readers themselves share their experiences as parents by sending their stories to [email protected].

Today we bring them closer Andrea's story, a young woman who tells us how she faced motherhood at the news of an unexpected pregnancy.

Hi, my name is Andrea, I'm 23 years old. I had been dating my daughter's father for 5 years when I became pregnant. I told him and the first thing we thought was what my relatives were going to say. We wanted to abort, we went to Profamilia and there I felt that the one who spoke to us was God and not the psychologist. We left there and then we hugged each other and we knew we should have that princess. It was very hard because it was not within my plans to get pregnant.

I went ahead, worked until the last day, the most stubborn was the delay in my birth.

I entered the clinic on August 15 at 6 pm and my daughter was born on 16 at 4 pm. It was by caesarean section and when I left I learned that my husband had not stopped crying because I took a long time.

When I saw my daughter, she was the cutest girl God had given me, but my joy only lasted 2 days when they told us we had to hospitalize her because she had low bilirubin. It was the saddest thing they could tell us, we cried so much with my husband that the same people at the clinic helped us, because every day at the clinic cost us a lot of money. The worst part was that I could not walk through the caesarean section, I had to ride in a wheelchair and feed it only in the morning hours because it hurt a lot to return in the afternoon. My husband had to go and take the milk I collect.

The first day he saw her, she cried like never before because the girl was blindfolded with tape and only enough that he spoke to her and she began to move a lot as if she wanted to get out of there ... it was so painful for him.

In this test that we had to live was that we learned that a child is the best gift we have as parents. Today Mariana is going to be 4 years old and she is such an intelligent girl ... Last year she had honorable mention for the best student, I turned to look at my husband and wanted to cry because it is a joy as very great parents. I only give advice to single mothers, her husband and her son's father is God, hold on to him and you will see the great blessings.
