Like every popular character, not even the poor naughty girl has gotten rid of the controversy, because the series has been accused of being a bad example for children because it showed a different concept of family, way of life, school ...
But despite this, the triumph has been unstoppable and the book has been translated into more than sixty languages. Now, the CNSE Foundation with the collaboration of the Carrefour Solidarity Foundation just released the first version of Pippi Longstocking in Spanish sign language with the intention of bringing it also to deaf children.
Children's stories are very important for the intellectual and emotional development of all children, also for deaf children, so they are interesting initiatives like this, although unfortunately there are very few children's works translated into sign language.
The work is presented on a DVD with a selection of chapters in sign language, subtitles and voiceover in order to eliminate any type of communication barrier, and thus all children, truly all, can enjoy their adventures.
