Today is Grandparents Day

Today, July 26, Grandparents Day is celebrated, how could it be otherwise from time to time they have a prominent place in our blog. The elderly have several special days, and such day as today grandparents are celebrated within the family in some countries.

The NGO Messengers of Peace since 1998 celebrates Grandfather's Day every July 26. The organization understands that, in cases where parents cannot provide adequate care for their children, grandparents may have the role of maintainers or guardians.

This is what we often see in the blog, those grandparents who "relive" their fatherhood in very different conditions than when they were young, and thanks to those who many families can reconcile work and family life, and not only in summer.

But the relationship with them is not always simple, and lately we have also reflected on what happens if the grandparents get in the way too much or when they grant all the whims.

We have also wondered if grandparents should take care of our children and we have talked about the slave grandfather syndrome, which occurs when caring for grandchildren becomes a difficult obligation and could lead to an unusual grandfather strike.

Personally I have to thank my parents who have helped us a lot with my daughters, although I have tried that, since they are young and love to travel often, they are not "enslaved". The exceedances and the half days have been my allies when it comes to reconciling and not leaving the little ones in the nursery.

But there they were after my exceedances and in my half-days, which are still, even for a few days, a few hours, when the little ones get sick, they are always willing, and sometimes I think we can never thank them enough.

Serve these lines of tribute to those loving and delivered grandparents that they enjoy taking care of their grandchildren by helping out when needed, or that they simply enjoy when they are around, and remember our own grandparents, how we enjoyed them and what they miss when they are gone.
