A guide on childhood cancer is prepared

Today is World Cancer Day, and on that date we are happy to share this news with our readers. The CRIS Foundation against cancer and the Carlos III Health Institute are developing a guide that will help children with cancer, their parents and caregivers and professionals to face the pain of the disease, with the aim of reducing the suffering and anxiety it causes.

In this project, which will be released at the end of the year, the Niño Jesús Hospital in Madrid, the Vall d'Hebron Hospital in Barcelona, the Spanish Federation of Parents of Children with Cancer and the Children's Cancer Association (ASION) collaborate.

The process of preparing this guide is interesting, which will gather the results of evidence-based scientific research to treat childhood cancer pain. Pain management associated with procedures and treatments will be an important issue in the publication. There will also be talk of alternative therapies such as yoga, reiki or acupuncture.

And it is that in the case of children with cancer it is not a merely physical pain, but it goes beyond and fear and uncertainty, feelings that increase discomfort, are joined.

Therefore the preparation of this guide that aims to help children are cancer and their families I think it's great news, and we will be attentive to its publication.
