Penance is done a few days before Communion

We have already done the Penance with the little one before next Communion. The act was most emotional seeing all the children as they were engaged in the act and responded to the expectations of their responsible. And it is that since they entered the Church singing and occupying their seats with their parents and siblings, until the end in which they left, the act took place with a great behavior of the children.

In Penance the children read the works they had assigned and the priest read them the Parable of the prodigal son of St. Luke which can be found in chapter 15, verse 11, of the New Testament. A parable, according to the DRAE, is a narrative of a feigned event from which an important truth or moral teaching is deduced, by comparison or similarity. In this case, he tries to explain what arrogance consists of, how to participate correctly in the community trying not to judge others with empty content reasons, and explains the importance of repentance for bad acts and forgiveness that can be achieved by it. That is what the priest tried asking the children very simple questions about what he had read so that the children would understand.

They also sang, laughed and were complicit in the banks they occupied with their families, and participated in every moment in which their presence was required.

And we reach the final moment. The parents had to go with the children to see what penance the priest granted him after telling him about his last acts, you know, I have behaved badly at home, sometimes I do not obey, I am late to do my homework, I have answered my parents and some other actions that are typical of the age, eight or nine years, for these children. And the priest left them ready to celebrate the First Communion.

Many children are already celebrating it in many cities in Spain, we still have a few days left. The first act has already passed and has been very pleasant and exciting. Now we hope that the next celebration, with much more family, will also take place in the best possible way.
