The Children Adelante program to improve the quality of education for low-income children in Chile

Children Forward It is an initiative promoted by the companies of the BBVA Group in Chile, Banco BBVA and AFP Provida, and Hogar de Cristo to raise the quality of education for low-income children in Chile. The initiative also has the support of UNICEF. Its objective is to improve preschool education in marginal sectors, providing them with more and better opportunities for development and social insertion.

The Adelante Children program since its creation in 2007 has achieved that more than 15,000 children between 0 and 4 years benefit from a better education. For example, with the support of UNICEF, Niños Adelante launched the “Let's Read with Our Children” campaign to promote the integration of preschoolers through reading. This is how books are distributed in kindergartens and in the nursery rooms of Hogar de Cristo throughout Chile. It is very important, as you can see in the video, the holding workshops with parents around the concept of dialogue reading.

Niños Adelante is a program with many awards and distinctions for its extraordinary work in South America aimed at improving the living conditions of the communities where it is inserted.

In Peques y Más we discussed it a few years ago and we are glad to see that it is still running and getting results. In any case, the web page Children Adelante seems to have remained a bit outdated although valuable content can still be found on the responsible BBVA YouTube channel.
