Children can learn more about hunger in the world, thinking at the same time of solutions: world drawing contest

The FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations) has co-organized a poster competition for children ages five to 17. The other driving force behind this action is the United Nations Guild for Women in Rome.

Drawings on the theme 'agricultural cooperatives: the key to feeding the world' are coming from all over the planet.. It is a way to involve the little ones because they must be documented before they elaborate their work, and it is also the way they are placed in the search for solutions that - although they do not depend on them - will help them understand the problem of hunger in the world . But participation in this contest implies a much more important element: a cooperative is (as the name implies) 'cooperation'. And it's something that participating children (if they compete with their class) They can learn by sharing ideas, negotiating designs and setting broad goals that can be achieved by working as a team.

What requirements do the organizers ask us ?: the posters can be drawn or painted with pencils, charcoal, oil, acrylic or watercolor paints. Digital art is also allowed, and designs may or may not include text (in any language). The works they must be original and it is not allowed to include photographs or personal information of the participants.

Taking into account that there are almost one billion people in the world who suffer from chronic hunger, the fact deserves to be dedicated to an activity of this type, it is a good way to raise awareness

The deadline ends on September 30, 2012, and the winners in categories 5 to 8; 9 to 12 and 13 to 17, World Food Day will be announced (October 16, 2012).
