The fourth snout: an example of how children can sensitize respect for other animals

Not long ago, I found this great initiative on the network in charge of which there are some children who, despite being still small, have very clear work for the Animal Defense. They are students of the Rural Center Agrupado de Muel (Zaragoza).

'The fourth snout' is a virtual protector, and it's much more because these girls and these boys they can become the architects of raising awareness of other children against animal abuse. They maintain an enthusiastic and determined attitude that we would do well to let ourselves be infected, because in general children know very well what they want, and only need spaces to prove it, as well as the confidence of the elderly. I imagine that these Primary students will be very proud of their work, and so will their teacher César Bona, since he has achieved that be able to discover their surroundings through the sincere look of childhood and act accordingly.

And you know what? in June 2011 they were awarded the Prize for the best project of the III National Contest of Eco-Initiatives, which was given neither more nor less by the renowned British primatologist Jane Goodall.

They have also been awarded by Educared and CreArte (from the Ministry of Culture)

I can imagine that in its closest environment, The kids of El Cuarto Snout have already created awareness towards respect for animals and against mistreatment of other species. But you should know that (in addition) they are being known by hundreds of people throughout the Spanish territory and also in other countries.

The blog consists of 11 sections, and in them we will find advice on 'what to do when we find an abandoned animal', stories of anonymous 'heroes' who care for others smaller than themselves, a place for thought-free expression, and Much love for animals, among other things.

And from the fourth snout has emerged the 'Children for Animals' initiative backed by personalities of education or science. Boys and girls invite all the children in the world to create their own protectors and work together.

Each of us, we are in Muel, Pontevedra, Logroño, Zaragoza, Granada, Argentina, Mexico, Chile ... we are the protagonists of the change. But the only way to achieve things is to work together

I am pleasantly surprised by this active project, which once again demonstrates that children know very well what are the requirements for a more balanced society, without a doubt respect for other animals is one of them because if we lose the ability to empathize with others, technological advances and progress are useless.
