Exercising with the baby: a special and practical experience

Once we have spent the first weeks of recovery and have begun to apply the first Postpartum Care, we can find that we lack time to perform as much exercise as we would like.

Between separating from our baby or doing sports, it seems that the decision is quite clear, so today we are going to talk about some alternatives so as not to have to give up any of the two and get in shape in the company of the small or small of the house.

Yoga, pilates or belly dance: connection and movement

We have already talked about benefits of yoga and pilates, to tone the muscles, strengthen the abdominal area, buttocks and hips or firm the chest. Deep breathing helps us relax and the correct performance of the exercises corrects bad postures and prevents discomfort or back injuries.

What if in addition to getting a more slender body we take advantage of all these advantages to share a special moment with our baby? Whether we prefer yoga, or Pilates (or why not, a combination of both) there are specific classes to do with our baby in specialized centers or even at home with the help of books (Pilates with your baby or Yoga for you and your son) and videos like the one you can see below, where the sun salutation posture is used, to create a moment of precious complicity with the child.

Although if what you like is dancing, you also have the option to perform Belly Dancing With your baby, the music and the gentle movements of this technique will leave you more than relaxed. Here you can see a sample:

In addition these exercises serve to strengthen pelvic floor muscles and mold the figure in a fun way, helping to reduce belly and refine the waist.

Cart and aerobic exercise The perfect combination!

I really liked a comment in the post about how to work buttocks and hips in which a mom tells her experience with the elliptical, while her baby plays on the floor. Something similar but with the baby still in the cart is what Baby Boot Camp proposes since it is about doing aerobic exercises and fast walks with the stroller or next to the baby, which is very fun for both.

Whether you have an exercise bike, an elliptical, a treadmill or prefer jog to the park Your baby can accompany you from the cart and enjoy watching your mommy get fit. If you have friends in your same situation you can organize races in strollers (known as Strollering) or group exercises such as those shown in this video:

The sport requires motivation, so that we can be constant and not throw in the towel. What better incentive than spending a pleasant time with our baby, sharing sensations, while we know that we are exercising our body?

Do you usually exercise with your baby? What is your favorite activity?
