Numerosity is a new and exciting way to encourage children to practice and learn math

Thoughtbox, the Irish educational software provider, has the mission of creating learning experiences in specific areas using the game. You have just launched Numerosity, an application for iPad. Numerosity It is aimed at children between 7 and 10 years and encourages creativity and imagination to facilitate learning.

The application uses game mechanics to attract children and encourage them to discover mathematical rules and principles for themselves. It is intended that children play with numbers, observe the results of their actions and learn with immediate results. This allows them to progress through the game and learn at their own pace. Children take control of their own learning by exploring, experimenting and progressing.

Through Numerosity, ThoughtBox is shown the way in which technology can be used to teach children. And, although it is an early stage company, ThoughtBox has already won several awards and prizes: the NDRC Launchpad program, a feasibility study award from Enterprise Ireland, winner of the 2012 BlueFace Business Elevator competition and a place in the Academy WAYRA

The founder and President of ThoughtBox is called Cristina Luminea and she is very proud of her Numerosity product. She presents it as "a new and exciting way to encourage children to discover Mathematics and Science personally. With Numerosity, we try to give children the satisfaction of solving mathematics for themselves." Cristina explains that it is a passionate about mathematics and says he has never been able to understand why people didn't feel the same. He explains that since an iPad was bought, he realized how powerful it is to touch and manipulate objects and numbers because while you observe what is happening, you learn and consolidate the answer.

Numerosity is free. We are testing it at home and it is quite entertaining to be a math game with a vocation to teach. Achieve the objective of facilitating repetition, learning, animation (very interesting the work of Skruff the puppy), healthy competition by making them learn while the kids play.

The application works by levels and access each level, once exceeded the initial, can be purchased for 0.89 euros each. Here I leave a screen of the last level of payment related to negative numbers.
