In 2013, a giant star will guide the floats of the Magi at the Madrid parade

Christmas 2012-2013 comes to an end although we still have the Three Kings Cavalcade, this is the last stop at these great Christmas parties after Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. And the Magi are probably the ones that most expect our children for the illusion they have of receiving their visits and their gifts.

In the capital of Spain also the Magi and this year 2013 will be guided by a giant star, filled with helium, which will move along the route and will finally land on the stage of the Plaza de Cibeles. The ride will start at 18:30 in the Plaza de San Juan de la Cruz, next to Nuevos Ministerios. Its planned Arrival in Cibeles around 20:30. On the stage of the Telecommunications Palace, current headquarters of the Madrid City Council, images of pictures of the Annunciation, the Nativity, the Adoration and many more will be projected. It is a reminder of those found in the Prado Museum by authors such as Rafael Mengs, Murillo, El Greco, etc.

The caravan circulates along the axis of the Paseo de la Castellana, from the New Ministries to the Plaza de Cibeles, at the headquarters of the Madrid City Council, in a very traditional tour for some years. It is best to move by subway and train through the city. The train is especially attractive because the route covers large capacity stations such as Nuevos Ministerios, Recoletos, Sol and Atocha (although the latter are a little further).

The caravan of the Magi, which will go in floats drawn by six horses (white those of Melchor, zaínos those of Gaspar and black those of Baltasar), will be preceded by an extensive courtship formed by the equestrian squadron of thirty riders of the Municipal Police and by the music parade also from the police. The floats will be decorated with motifs inspired by classic children's stories: the Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan, Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, etc. There will also be the geese and a flock of sheep that will walk in front of all the children. There will be more animals because the royal mailmen will go with fourteen burritos, two elephants can be seen and the parade will be closed by three dromedaries and a zebra.

Remember that in addition to candies a lot of mini-stories will be distributed to the attendees, well wrapped and safe for when they launch. They will also be delivered by hand bigger tales and throughout the tour there will be Christmas and Christmas songs in Galician, Basque, Catalan, Latin and Spanish in the Plaza de Cibeles.

This year 2013 leaves us very high expectations, the organization of the Delegate of the Arts of Madrid, Fernando Villalonga, seems that will offer a Cavalcade in which the Catholic spirit will prevail and will focus on the three Magi as the main characters and protagonists.

And then, Everyone to bed to sleep! And wait for the magic of Christmas to fill the rooms, trees, nativity scenes or any space in which the Magi determine that they can leave the gifts for our children. Happy Night of Kings for all!
