The oratory and rhetoric of our generation

I have read in the dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy (RAE) that rhetoric is the art of saying well, to give written or spoken language the efficiency necessary to delight, persuade or move. In our generation, the one of the fathers and mothers readers of the blog, the rhetoric has not worked much because we have always had to be a little at the order of what our elders said. However, times change and we increasingly participate in decision centers so we have to learn to be suggestive, friendly and kind when presenting our ideas, in order for them to be accepted by others. We also have to practice speaking, which according to the RAE is, the art of speaking eloquently, that is, the materialization of the persuasive capacity presented by rhetoric and that is concretized with speeches or conferences.

For generations that come the oratory and rhetoric will have to work hard and as Eduardo de Talk and Talk told us, children who practice speaking will be more responsible, organized and mature. To learn it is essential to practice and especially in speeches prepare the text and read it several times. There is also to understand, believe and feel the message and practice it to set an example. I really like to see conferences and speeches that convey good messages and that they also do it in a credible and strong way. A speech can be long and exhausting, because it includes many concepts and ideas, so it is essential organize it, work it out and make a good presentation to win over the audience using all the possible tools.

It is important start working with the kids because it cannot be that they are scared before a microphone, before an audience, that they do not dominate what they are going to read, that they do not convey confidence and that they seek the approval of their parents. You have to learn to look at the audience, without turning away, speak loudly and fluently. I love that children express themselves with joy, with enthusiasm, with enthusiasm because it enriches and also gives much more value to their testimonies.

So as soon as you begin to work and strive with responsibility and confidence we will anticipate subsequent frustrations of professional careers that are blocked, suffer unlearning, do not meet the expected challenges or suffer falls or dissatisfactions from those that do not recover.

The image that illustrates the article is from SEKMUN, based on the United Nations Model, this is a meeting that allows ESO and Baccalaureate students discuss and get solutions on many problems on the planet according to the vision of the students. I hope soon to talk more about this project in which, as you can see, students participate from the stand presenting their ideas and doing it fluently.
