These are my 11 favorite moments of our summer vacation: what are yours?

Our summer vacation ended a few days ago. It has been two fantastic weeks, in which I have disconnected from the world to connect with my children, and enjoy nature and life without a clock together.

My backpack has been loaded with precious moments that will remain forever recorded in my heart, and in that of my children. And in these days when postvacational syndrome becomes evident, it helps me to remember everything good lived. And you, have you also experienced any of these situations?

1) The songs in the car on the way to the beach

At home we love music and my three children have a very good musical ear, so one of our favorite hobbies when we go in the car is cto sing the songs that we like the most at heart.

We make different melodies, imitate the sound of some instruments or organize to perform choirs while another one sings solo. It is a spectacle to see each other, and there are many laughs that these magical moments have given us, which have also made car travel more bearable and fun.

2) Let me bury in sand

One of the things children like best is to play with the sand on the beach, and if their games include burying mom or dad, even more fun!

I still miss a smile when I remember the moment when my three little ones convinced me to bury me under the sand, and how they "tortured" me later with dozens of "slug" kisses on the face and water shots.

Their laughter caught the attention of all those who passed by, who, infected with their laughter, ended up standing by our side to contemplate the scene.

3) The freedom to live without schedules

One of the things I like most about summer vacations is being able to spend a few days without looking at the clock and without feeling tied to the schedules: relax the routines, eat when the stomach roars, or sleep soundly until you feel like it (although with children it is already known that it is usually not enough).

There have been days when we were so comfortable having breakfast as a family, that between laughter, confidences and conversations of all kinds, the moment has ended up lengthening until almost lunchtime.

There is not much time left to return to school routines and schedules, so we can enjoy a few days in which we simply let ourselves be guided by the sun and its sunsets, or by what we wanted to do at each moment, it has It seemed simply wonderful.

4) Witness your adventures

Summer is synonymous with fun and free time, and see my children play and understand each other so well as they do it fills me with a hard pride to describe. Wherever I look, the three are always together; devising stories and adventures of the most varied, because what does not occur to one, the other invents.

And then you surprise them by looking around the house for a pirate treasure, making an invented gymkana, or recreating a play. And without being seen, for fear of breaking the magic of the moment, I watch them from the door, being exceptional witness of his incredible adventures and his hilarious conversations.

5) Your chocolate morritos

I don't know your little ones, but mine they get stained from head to toe every time they take an ice cream, especially if they are cornet because they usually start biting the bottom of the wafer, with the consequences that this entails.

I confess that sometimes the situation makes me a little nervous (the clothes get stained, the strands of hair that fall on their faces become sticky, half of the ice cream ends up falling to the ground ...), but over time I have ended up even having fun watching the dantesco show that involves having a simple ice cream.

6) Your careless appearance

When I observe my children on vacation, and their characteristic careless appearance, I confess that I would eat them whole. His tanned skin, his disheveled hair, the California wicks that come out with the sun, his chocolate chips, his dirty feet walking all day barefoot ...

Everything as a whole produces me an indescribable tenderness but, above all, a great satisfaction of know that they are living their vacations as children who are: having fun and taking care of everything else.

7) See my daughter swim for the first time

Without a doubt this has been one of the great moments of our summer, and the one that has surprised me the most.

My middle daughter said goodbye last summer with an irrational fear of water that prevented her from enjoying the waves of the sea and the games in the pool. But this year, as if by magic, everything has changed, and the little one has surprised us starting to swim without help.

My "little mermaid" has not come out of the water all summer and has enjoyed the beach and the pool like nobody else. Sometimes I joke with her telling her that "fins like fish will come out", and he looks at me and smiles as he shows me his progress with swimming proudly.

7) His contagious amazement

One of the things that captivates me most about children is the ability to be surprised and marvel at every thing they see, with every story you tell them or with every new discovery they make.

And precisely these holidays are being the perfect setting for discover and be surprised with everything around them. Collect shells on the beach, contemplate the lunar eclipse, enjoy a night outdoors at the summer cinema, feed the ducks in a pond, observe closely the impressive colors of a butterfly ...

Anything catches your attention and is precious let yourself be infected by your astonishment, and rediscover the world through the eyes of a child.

9) Celebrate your birthdays

Two of my three children turn years in summerSo, for our family, vacations are also synonymous with candy pinatas, gifts, candles and birthday cake.

These dates are especially emotional for me, and surely all the mothers who read me understand the feeling I am referring to. Nostalgia invades me to see how quickly time passes, but at the same time it makes me proud and full of joy to see them grow up healthy and happy.

10) Your independence

Another beautiful thing that I bring from our vacation is the independence that my eldest son is acquiring. He has always been an independent and mature child, but this summer has become more noticeable if possible.

"Mom, I'm going to play at my friend's house", "I have met a group of boys on the beach, I go with them to play football", "Can my friend Pablo come home for the afternoon?"... These types of situations are repeated almost daily, and they have made me realize that my child is growing and no longer needs us by his side as much as before.

11) Our deep conversations

If something has characterized this summer with respect to the previous one, it is the long and deep conversations that we have had with my oldest son, who has begun to express his doubts about various aspects of life.

And suddenly I have seen myself chatting with a child who was a few summers ago was a baby he was chasing tirelessly by the seashore, and today he is able to hold almost adult conversations. At what time has such a change happened? I keep wondering incredulously.

Summer vacations go a long way, and when they live with children they become a box of surprises full of unique and unforgettable moments. What have been yours?
