"It's just the beginning", a documentary about children and philosophy

Since this weekend I saw a report on this documentary I wanted to talk about it. Now that I have found the trailer with Spanish subtitles, I present "It's just the beginning", a documentary about children and philosophy That looks very good.

A new documentary film by Pierre Barougier and Jean-Pierre Pozzi on Philosophy classes for three and four year olds has just been released in Spanish cinemas "Ce n'est qu'un début": A lesson in humanity, warmth, education, tolerance and common sense.

Parents, what is the use? What is love? And freedom? These are just some questions that are asked and to which children give their particular answers. Some answers that invite elders to reflect, that show us interesting perspectives of reality, and I would say that sometimes very wise.

Context is a philosophy workshop that took place with a group of children for two years, and that results in the material collected in the documentary. The expressive and spontaneous protagonists are called Azouaou, Abderhamène, Louise, Shana, Kyria and Yanis.

Throughout a course, sitting in a circle around a burning candle, with the help of their teacher Pascaline, they learn to express themselves, to listen to each other, to talk before fighting, to understand and to know each other better.

Together they reflect on important issues, often forgotten in our society. Thinking for themselves, the little ones speak in their own way, in their own words, often loaded with tolerance and civility. Isn't it great that they are the future? The documentary about children and philosophy shows us that, which is only the beginning.
