The birth of sextuplets is something really strange: only one in five billion births in the world. And it is really complicated that such a large pregnancy ends well.
And yet, just two months ago we were talking about a case in Texas, the United States and now another in Poland.
Specifically this week, in Krakow, a woman has given birth to four girls and two boys, conceived in a natural way, although in principle the doctors only waited for five. They have been news in the country, because it is the first time it happens in Poland Such a numerous birth.
Both newborns and their mother Klaudia, 29, are well, and have received until the congratulations of their president.
Something unusual in the world
But it is not only an event in the European country: it is worldwide, as Ryszard Lauterbach, head of neonatology at the University Hospital in Krakow, said, as a case of sextuplets It only happens once in 4.7 billion pregnancies in the world and afterwards, it is difficult to bring the pregnancy to fruition:
“It is the first time that sextuplets are born in Poland, and it is something unusual in the world. It was a surprise because doctors were waiting for five babies. "
As he explains, the babies were born by caesarean section in the 29th week of gestation and it was not until the fifth was born, when they found that there was still one more little brother. In fact, the doctor explains that the mother was able to have her sixth baby skin to skin while the last incubator arrived.
"It was an extremely difficult intervention and required the participation of about 40 doctors and staff."The boys are called Filip and Tymon and the girls Zosia, Kaja, Nela and Malwina. They weigh between 890 grams and 1.3 kilograms. All of them are in incubators:
"We are surprised. Of course your respiratory, nervous and digestive systems are immature and require medical attention. One of the babies had to be intubated, but we hope it doesn't last long and we can get rid of the respirator as soon as possible."
This is how Professor Ryszard Lauterbach expressed himself, in statements to a local media. So we still have to wait a while to meet the six brothers who, surely, will spend about three months hospitalized.

"We just received an amazing message! Today, in Krakow, 6 babies were born. This is the first case in the history of the country. Both the mother and her little ones are well. Congratulations and thanks to the parents and staff doctor!".
