Summary of the week from September 10 to 16 in Peques y Más

One more week I return with you to tell you the best of the last seven days in Peques y Más, the blog for the families of growing children. First of all I would like to invite you to the "Researchers' Night" on the 26th if there are scheduled events near where you live, we have reviewed the call of Madrid, and Zaragoza, where children participate very actively presenting prototypes of rockets and automaton toys

I continue with this interesting interview with Professor Jose Rivela, who tells us how Students learn what theory and practice go together, and that studying also serves something in life.

I take that within the issues that have to do with our children's school, we highlight that in the Community of Madrid the subject of Computer Programming has been introduced; and that parents (usually) have a positive view of the role of Technology in the classroom.

By the way, the parents who walk around here have very young children, but as they grow up they want to "expand horizons" some ask to go to school alone. It is a decision conditioned by many factors, but at Audi Attitudes they have thought about it, and therefore they have developed the "Safe Route" application that includes geolocation. Of course, these types of initiatives should not be incompatible with safe school environments.

From a couple of studies we have echoed: on the one hand that 60 percent of men who claim to form a good team with their partners (while the percentage of them who believe it is lower). And that figure of one in three households with children in Spain that requires babysitting services.

Of games and toys: On the one hand we congratulate LEGO because it has become the world's largest toy manufacturer. On the other hand we are attentive to the possible purchase of Minecraft by Microsoft; and we also look forward to the new Playstation game about Tadeo Jones.

Finally three reflections that can serve as a starting point to rethink our relationship with childhood: Do adults turn some children's problems into disorders? Is childhood ending before? And at what age would it be appropriate to buy a smartphone for the kids?

And now I say goodbye, I will be with you again in a week.
